Ignite Your Child's Potential with
Banner Lake After School Time
For decades, The BLAST Program has been a cornerstone of the Hobe Sound community, providing enriching experiences for local youth.
Revamped in 2015, BLAST has expanded into a comprehensive out-of-school time program, offering year-round support during both the academic school year and a substantial summer program.
Committed to Accessibility and Growth:
We are proud to offer these vital programs completely free of charge to children and teens aged 5 to 18. Each age group benefits from the dedicated guidance of two staff members, all certified in First Aid and CPR, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Teen and Tween Empowerment:
Our dedicated Teen and Tween Center, led by Coordinator Javin Haston, provides a safe space for older youth to connect, learn, and grow.
Core Pillars of the BLAST Experience:
The BLAST Program is built around three priority outcomes, ensuring holistic development for every participant:
-
Academic Hour: Mandatory time dedicated to homework help, tutoring, and skill-building.
-
Physical Fitness Hour: Engaging activities promoting physical health and well-being.
-
Creative Skills Hour: Opportunities to explore artistic expression, innovation, and problem-solving.
Community Focused:
As a deeply rooted community program, we are committed to reaching families in need and providing a supportive network for all.

First Serve
First Serve’s unique mentoring program employs exceptional teens and young adults from within the Banner Lake community to serve as mentors to young children from within their own neighborhood, while providing those same mentors with crucial resources to help them elevate their own life trajectory.
Each mentor is given access to post secondary success coaching, personal and professional development training, DCF accreditation, scholarships, and future job opportunities, as well as access to ongoing support in their future endeavors. While developing their unique gifts and talents, these young leaders work actively each day to provide necessary support to the BLAST program, providing children with caring role models who invest in their lives by helping them complete homework assignments, practice reading, develop their motor skills through sports and exercise, express their creativity, and develop life skills such as conflict resolution and making healthy lifestyle choices.
